As President, Anita is responsible for all aspects and operations of Operation Freedom Memorial Foundation, Inc.

In addition to being the President and Founder of OFM. Anita is very active in the Gold Star Mothers in the state of Kansas and works full time in the Health industry.

Anita is dedicated to building a memorial to honor all of the Kansas Soldiers that gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country and represent all of those that served during and in these wars of conflict against global terrorism.

Assists the President in all duties and is responsible for all IT requirements, construction of memorial and web site development/administration.

John is a board member of Veterans Memorial Park of Wichita Inc (VMPWI) and serves as the OFM Liaison to VMPWI. VMPWI is a non-profit organization contracted to the City of Wichita to maintain veteran’s memorials throughout Wichita’s parks. VMPWI also has first approval of all new memorials to be constructed in Wichita’s Veterans Memorial Park and works closely with the City’s Parks and Recreation and those organizations seeking to build a new memorial in Veterans Memorial Park.

John also works closely with several veterans’ organizations in the Wichita, KS area and is a member of the American Legion, American Legion Riders, VFW, VFW Riders, the Forty & Eight and the Kansas Patriot Guard.

Additionally, he is the Web Developer/Web Administrator for the American Legion Post 136 in Mulvane, KS; Web Developer/Web Administrator for the VFW Post 7253 in Derby, KS and a Board Member and Web Developer/Web Administrator for the Forty & Eight Voiture #58 in Wichita, KS.

Colonel Hester is the Director of the Wichita JROTC Program. He started the program in 1997 to train and mentor cadets to become better citizens through character development and service training. These goals are accomplished through comprehensive, elective courses where a broad spectrum of subjects such as American History, Constitution, technology awareness, government and current events are taught.

Under his leadership the Wichita JROTC Program has been studied as a model for other school systems nationwide.

Sherry is a native Kansan. She has been sculpting 15 years. Sherry studied with local artist Nancy Tapp. She has taken a figurative sculpture class from Lincoln Fox, a portrait/bas relief class from Eugene Daub, and a recent 40-hour workshop in Forensic Art at OU.

She is a member of Wichita Sculpture Guild, Wichita Artist’s Guild, and Wichita Women Artists.

She has exhibited at Century II, Bank IV, Old Town, El Dorado Art Gallery, Halstead Fine Arts Festival, Stein Eck Gallery, Hutchinson Art Gallery, Ducks Unlimited, Carriage Gallery in Newton, Ks, City Arts in Wichita, Center for the Arts also in Wichita, and has a bronze sculpture in The Frank Howell Gallery in Sante Fe, NM.

Sherry has completed a bronze sculpture of a mother camel and baby, and the Malayan Tapir and baby for Envision displayed at the Sedgwick County Zoo.

She has completed bronze eagles for Maize South Middle School, Aldersgate Methodist Church, and Complete High School Maize. A life size bronze child will be added at CHSM.

She has a bronze child reading a book at the library in Goddard, and at the United Methodist Church in Mulvane, KS. She has pieces at Halstead Library, Halstead Rehab Hospital, and Halstead Chamber of Commerce Building.

Operation Freedom Memorial will draw the winner for the Kimber .45 Raffle at 6pm during the Wednesday Burger Burn on Feb 15th at the Derby VFW - 101 S. Baltimore Derby, KS. Winner need not be present to win. Some consolation prizes will be drawn and awarded to raffle ticket holders who are present.
